Default RE: Guide to Forum posting

ORIGINAL: Druss

No offence but I'm sure everyone knew what I was referring to and the fact that you had to search to see what word it was does not bode well...

Look over my posts and I'll bet you find fewer spelling or grammatical mistakes than (not then) 95% of the posters. Mind you, it would also be nice if everyone could learn the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" but that may be asking a bit much.

I actually don't care too much about slang either, I usually just ignore it, but just lazy english is what really bugs me. We aren't face to face here and so have no perception of what anyone is like beyond their writing style.
Well I really did not mean to attack you either but when you go after people for bad spelling and grammar then do it yourself.? Also, the "Search" was meant as a play on words since everyone seems to be saying do a search. It also does not "bode" well when you just misspell a word after telling people to check that.

I agree that many do not even try to do their own research first but this is a forum meant for the sharing of knowledge. When people start getting all pissy about new persons asking questions that may have already been asked...lighten up or Just don't respond. Seems to me that more are upset because someone did not go through as much trouble as they did to find an answer and want to make it harder for the one asking.

People, right or wrong also come here as a community. They look here to a group of people who share a common interest and possibly may become part of a bigger group of friends. I know that sometimes seems annoying to people who come here frequently but those are also the people that become part of this hobby. They support the companies that produce what you, I, and all these other people are into and yet we are so "Superior" that now we deem them as inferior, trouble makers, and do not want to help them.

Just seems to me this whole thing was taken way to far and people should be honored that others wish to learn from them.

Anyhow, I mean no personal insult to you or to others in this forum but I just feel that we should not get so wound up over people looking for help. Instead of yelling at them, teach them.
