Default RE: How to know where we posted?

ORIGINAL: Zor

Ken sent me to the FAQ which does not cover my questions. I do not know how to write my questions better than I did. I am quite sure Ken understood what I am looking for.
Ok, since you asked I'll tell you how I keep up with posts. I do everything through email. When I post in a thread I make sure that the "Notify me via e-mail when someone replies" box is checked before I submit that post. Then when anybody replies to that thread I will get an email notifying me of this. I will then click on that link in the email which will take me directly to where that new post in a the thread was posted. As a moderator I have a LOT of Forums that I monitor so I have basically subscibed to those forums in order to get a notification for every new thread that is created in that forum. You can do this by looking in the upper right of any Forum such as the beginners forum and you will see a link labled "Subscribe". By clicking this I get a notification in my email whenever a new thread is posted in this forum. From there I can choose to subscribe to a thread and continue receiving notifications of posts in that thread by subscribing to it, or not subscribe for which I will not receive any further emails on. To help keep all of this sorted I out I have my email set up to sort out posts by where they come from on RCU. As you can see from the attached diagram I can then tell what threads I have viewed by whether or not the email has been read or not.

I have a lot of threads that I monitor because of being a moderator here and this is the system that I use to keep track of what I've read, not read, posted to, or not posted to. To be totally honest with you I very rarely even go into the forum lists that show all of the threads in a forum. With this system I don't need to as I will get notified whenever a new post is made in a forum in which I have subscribed to.

Hope this helps

Ken
