I you have a computer radio w/dual rates, you can set the travel where it wouldn't hit. Switch it for flight and taxiing. Make sure that the high rate doesn't effect your rudder movement, and doesn't cause damage if do push it too far.
I would set it at the max amount of travel you can without the wheel making contact and leave it. You won't be doing major rudder manuevers with the cherokee anyway.
