Default RE: Interchangable frequency crystals

ORIGINAL: OzMo

Ken,
I am an old flyer but getting back into sailplanes now. I am considering the Hitec Spectra synthysized transmitter to utilize my existing recievers. I am avoiding the new 2.4 stuff do to budget. ANY THOUGHTS? all my RXs are Futaba or Hitec. Sailplanes are often LONG distances from the TX as you know.
The synthisized modules are a different animal than the crystal based radios. These have the tuning mechanism entirely contained inside the module. They are tuned for all the frequencies they transmit on and will be fine.

Richard,
Yes, same answer for both questions. It's just not worth the risk.
