I admit that I think that pinching the sticks is likely to allow for more precise control, but when I learned to fly in 1973, all the local guys in Baltimore used thumbs so that is what I learned to do. I tried to re-teach myself to pinch a few years ago. Could not do it. I guess its the old dog, new trick phenomenon! []
