Default RE: How well will this engine work

ORIGINAL: flystright

Thanks I know that it is a hard plane but I like building and learing new things, but with good support I think that I can complete this project. Also looking for a good pirce on retracts, where would be a good place to buy from.

Thanks
The building is one aspect but it's the flying that is the biggest problem. It's going to be a warbird with fairly high wing loading and not nearly as forgiving as a trainer or most sport planes. The take-off's and especially the landings will require a lot more skill. I'm just pointing that out since this is a beginners forum read by a lot of people brand new to the hobby. I don't want them to get the idea that a nice warbird is something to start out on. If you are at the point you are ready for it though then go for it.

As for the retracts, don't skimp. I would by good heavy duty gear from someone like Robart, Century Jet, etc. Retracts that break, don't work or bend can ruin your day and possibly your airplane.

Again, there is probably a ton of information on this plane and what works and what doesn't in the warbird forum.
