I use Lipos too and find that the tank shuts itself down when the charge gets too low and this is a long way off the minimum charge that might cause damage.

One tip though is never leave them plugged in as they will slowly discharge and be wrecked. Pull the plug out on storage or install an additional on off switch that goes directly to the battery, the tamiya on off is not a true on off switch as the tank is still live even after it is officially in the off position.
