Sounds like it could be thermal shutdown and/or its pulling to many amps for the esc. A 3.5t motor is lot of motor for a stadium truck.
Try going down in pinion a size or three. That should ease the amp draw and heat. If its still doing it could be something else.

Yeah that motor is in the 70,000 plus rpm range....good for onroad cars but way too much for a st[X(]
