[X(]Careful rowdog, The Great Planes Gee Bee has very flimsy gear. I found out the hard way by doing the same thing you are planning to do. I tried flying mine without the pants and I managed to bend up the gear on the first landing. Any side load at all with bend it. I ended up making my own landing gear out of 4130 chromoly which worked great. It was the only thing that didn't get damaged on my last crash. I posted some pics of the gear earlier in this thread.
