I don't know if you have used your brass stuffing tube yet, I just want to specify that for your 3/16 flex
you want a 1/4" OD brass stuffing tube, that tube will have an ID of 7/32 which will give you the correct clearance for the 3/16 flex shaft.
That stuffing tube will go in nice and snug inside the strut than after that the strut bushing will be a perfect fit (since it has an OD of 7/32) than your stub shaft will sit nicely in the bushing.
if you make a stuffing box use the next size up to make the stuffing box which is 1/4" ID and 9/32" OD, than your stuffing tube will fit nicely in it.
