I'd think the screw heads are inside the tank. There's not much surface area on the front of a Pee Wee tank on either side of the crankcase.

I would say modified. I would suspect when more than two of the mounting ears broke of it was time to dream up a way of mounting the little devil.
Pity there is no front view. I would guess there are a couple of screw heads peeking back at you.
Not enough metal to countersink the screw head, gotta be from the backplate...but if it is stock, someone took alot of time to buff out where the mounting ears were....Rog
