Hey didn't Service Merchandise have a 50% off sale just before they went out of business?
Sounds like you're implying that they might be liquidating inventory? But I don't see how it necessarily relates to dropping the price of a software package which has been around for a while and is now essentially just a CD and $20 controller. If there is no firm date for updates (and if they want to get around to that in future), then makes sense to drop the price for now to keep it in the market. All they have to do in mean time is produce CD's and cheap controllers to supply (assuming that all parties with legal rights to it agree with the strategy like the developers). The price has been at 99 for half a year or more.
As for prices generally, Horizon has actually significantly raised the prices of some products recently (like the 50 size ShowTime for example, after discontinuing the 90).
