No you dont. traxxas makes a reverse module that fits the revo 3.3 or the new tmax 3.3.

I would'nt buy a nitro without reverse. its not that often you need it, but if it saves me from having to walk across the field/track/parking lot once, its worth it! Is not lazy or opposed to exercise, its just that when I'm playing, I want to play, not walk toward an idling truck, when I can avoid it.
I didn't mean you had to put a 2.5 trans in it, I meant you had to take the '09 trans out and put the old '08 trans in. The '08 trans had reverse.
