Default RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

Steve, I thought the barrel would be bigger also but the MG was a derivative of the MG34 firing 8mm mouser ammo (the me109F still shot the 7.97mm projectile), I have a nazi mousers (shoots same ammo) so I measured the barrel, in fact I have the flash hider and I measured that and this is the size it lead me to. I’ve seen MG34’s and the barrel business end visually is the same as the mouser. Now I did not include the barrel shroud (protects people from getting burned by a hot barrel) because people will not be around the barrel on the plane while it is hot. I have one of those 1/6 MG34’s from 21st century toys and its barrel is same size but the flash hider is way oversize ( I think because of min. die cast thickness.

The other thing I noticed was that the end of the MG trough is open but I could not model that here because of the shap

If I got something wrong let me know.

Joe.
