Yea, your right. What I was trying to say was don't "mount" the receiver until he does a CG check, in case he does need to move it, or the tubes for the antenna. But, the rec and all the wires going to it do make a difference where they are located. I found this out from my Venus 40. It did make a noticable difference when I relocated it to the rear area behind the cockpit.
