Default RE: what is a sterling piper cub j-3 50" wingspan model worth?

Hi Dart;

Greetings to you from the sunny and windy 'Valley of the Sun'.

In answer to your question, and similar ones submitted to this Vintage Section almost every week is simple.......WHO knows for sure? I am a kit collector with almost 700 older/vintage/antique kits in my ever growing, eclectic collection. I prowl swap meets, model meets, etc., always on the lookout for something new and interesting, however, these days, and for the past 10>11years my best source for kits, [my bag], is eBay, and RCU herewith in the old days, [RCU prices are outrageous rite now, with most Sellers asking eBay+ prices].

Now, here is what to do re your Sterling Cub: go over to eBay's Search Engine, submit the item you are interested in....Sterling J-3 Cub...., it will give you any that are up for auction, with time of sale price etc., if ther are none, just keep on checking in periodically, it will eventually show up......Someone put it up for auction: the Seller....Someone purchased it: the Buyer, at a said Price...the Value of the kit. Do this 4>5 times, average the #s and you will know pretty well what your kit is worth.

I have purchased about 500 or so kits with eBay, a lesser # through RCU. Try my method, I think that you will like it, best regard from Glendale, Arizona,

Joe Nagy.
