The plane I'm trying to put the mount on is a spad Debonair. I don't know how we got it on there the first place.. The mount was given to me and so it don't come with a template of any kind.

Trying to use one of the humongous adjustables on a gutterpipe spad is indeed difficult and a far better and easier mount to use is a Dave Brown. They are consistantly more versatile in tight situations.

The Dave Brown mounts have my vote also. Just make sure you have the one that fits your engine, I used one that almost fit the OS 40 in my quickee, I had to spread the beams just a hair. First prop whack and the engine was out, the mount broke. HUMMM must have been do the the age. Put another one on the plane and a week later a repeate. I finally got one that fit and all was well. They even have them in the "L" version for four strokes. My next favorite mount is the Dubro viberation mounts, although when the rubbers start going soft the engine can move around a bit. I don't like the mounts I've seen with the ARF's, even though the one with the Pheonix FunStar looks exactly like a dave brown, except it wouldn't hold a four stroke, even though the setup showed using one in the plane.

Tatone makes a good mount.
