I knew it would get heavier with the addition of 2 servos, linkages, all the balsa reinforcing that was added to support the flap hinging and the flaps theirselves. I removed some light balsa to make room then added a lot of balsa. I also replaced the whimpy reciever battery with the 1100mah A123 battery. It is actually more like 1 lb 8 ounces. I know I will sacrifice some verticle climb but that is not a real issue for me since I'm no hot shot Zippi-do-da pilot. I am looking to do slow fly bys down the field at walking speed with power on.
Well, I don't think I fit in that catagory of a hot-shot-pilot either Ron. When you see Eric fly a Rascal it looks so good with those slow knive edge passes at walking speed. I guess in our own minds we're all hot-shot-pilots in one way or another. As long as we have fun doing what it is we do well it's satisfying.
