could it be your rx/tx by any chance. when i connect the battery to the esc the servos do twitch a little. but it is not until the tx connects with the reciever that i can move them (tx/rx not binding?)

get a regular 4.8v or 6v battery and connect it to your reciever (if you have one) and try to move the servo's
if the servo's dont move its a radio problem.
that would be the first thing i would try
