Default RE: First Post - NEWBIE - Trainer/Plane Questions

The Hobbico Nexstar 46 was a great trainer for me. Even though you can find trainers for less, and granted there are some trainer features on this plane that you probably will want to disconnect, it comes with a 4 channel radio and simulator of the exact plane to practice on. It is a very forgiving plane and easy to learn on. No matter what you buy, use the buddy box, and do some research as to what modifications to make to the plane as your assembling it ( example : fuel proofing the engine and tank compartments etc )
Take your time - read as much as you can from these forums - find an experienced pilot to help you - put in as many hours on the sim as you can - and last but most important, approach this sport with respect for flying objects and SAFETY. Oh yeah, have fun too...... Good Luck
