RE: Concorde to fly again on June 19!!!
April fool !
Lat week I had the president of the Royal Aeronautical Society staying with me. He is a retired Concorde captain (and was BA's general manager and chief pilot Concorde, only half a dozen more men have more time at Mach 2). If anyone outside of France knew anything, Dave (Rowland) would have been the man to know about it ! Nothing was mentioned which remotely alluded to this !
Anyway the C of A is withdrawn as was Airbus's design support and the curreent COE of AF, Jean Spinetta was instrumental in grounding Concorde, some say for political reasons.
Sorry guys, you've been had !
That said at least ONE British delta WILL be flying in 2009, the Vulcan now has enough funds to continue. Restoring the Vulcan was a massive task, Concorde would be vastly, vastly greater than that, sadly, its not going to happen.
Regards, David Gladwin.
