It sounds more like an FAA issue with regards to transportation and safety.

Not the FAA, but the Transportation Safety Authority (TSA) has regulations on lithium based batteries:

The latest generation of lipos if used and charged properly are at least as safe as any other battery type. But they remain very intolerant of abuse. I have over 25 large capacity lipos (4S to 6S 4,000 mAh to 6,000 mAh) and have been around big lipos for a while now. Properly handled they are not an issue.

Good joke however. Caught my eye!!
