Considering that you thought you had ample speed at takeoff, was this the maiden flight for your Corsair? If so, check to see if your ailerons might be reversed, it is easy to do even if that might be the last thing you think you would ever overlook. However, I do agree that it was most likely a stall, but it is worth checking. It might save your plane after repairing and attempting another flight.
