Default RE: Blade 400 upgrades.

Yep I have them and the frame here's the pics of the head and tail

As for the tail, I think the black cheaper one is a bit better, I have not had the belt problem, but for the heck of it I changed to a maverik belt and rex tail shaft. I have had both and found the Beam styled tail easier to work on and quite good quality. The Pro tail had a problem in the amount of throw on the slider, it is possible to go over center on the pitch links from that point you CAN NOT get the pitch back, happened in flight once and the tail came off and given to a rex driver, he threw it in the garbage.
Now for the head, you'll love it, much smoother and a few extra adjustment links. You'll take an evening getting it sorted but that's just because you'll be learning. The main shaft that comes with it is solid and has held up better then the stock Blade shaft. Here is the one problem, the blade grips are on the small side in terms of the gap distance opening, they measure out at about 4.6mm, stock blades will not work, Align pro 325's have to be sanded down to fit. EP CF's fit as do a few others sold through hobbycity, runs about 17.00 a set, this is not a problem because with the increase stability of the tail and head you'll be progressing faster, not crashing as much and therefore CF's become a viable option. The head uses the rex sized V2 feather shaft but seems to need different shims against the dampners the space provided dose not cover the entire dampner and cuts into the side reducing the longevity.
I have since bought the CF frame and moved everything on to that, having to do it over I don't think the frame is required, looks cool but has a few issues which could have been sorted better before it was marketed. Cyclic servos on the read had to be shimmed out for the sservo arms to clear som frame screws, using hs 65's. since then I now have hs 56's in the cyclic, they have an offset mount base and fitt really nice, also a bit quicker then the 65's. Second due to the frame supports on the lower tray there is not alot of flat space to mount the electronics, can be overcome by shimming things up with mounting tape. That being said the mounts for the bearings are far superior as is the boom mount so I guess the important things are better.
