Default RE: YS-170CDI Flight Report

ORIGINAL: Astropattern

A question about frequency use...

Assuming I use a separate power circuit for the CDI, do these systems increase chance of glitch and detrimental radio noise? I am "still" flying on 50Mhz JR PCM.

In the past, running ignition required a long list of "roll-your-eyes" precautions to avoid radio interference. Is the CDI engineered to be more of a "drop-in" replacement, or is this an issue at all?

Thanks,

John
Unless you are flying 2.4, you still need to take the standard precautions to separate any radio component from the source of ignition noise, its wiring and its power source.
