It's not hard to cut out the stab - done it a dozen times. Just take your time. Remember to make sure that you keep everything straight, especially when you are ready to reattach the stab. Check and then double check the incidence before you glue it on. Use 30 epxoy when you reglue and double check the CG after the repair. I've seen too many folks redo their tail surfaces and don't rebalance and check the incidence. They end up building a little heavier and they fly with a tail heavy and out of trim plane.
