I have seen alot of people with heat troubles lately. Wether it be gearing or whatever. I was wondering if anyone has attempted a water cooled system with their car. If anyone knows of a system like this I would be interested to see/hear about it.
Here are photos of the one i ran in my Exceed RC truck.............................the "radiator" is a traxxas villain cooling tube fit into a Metal flashing housing with a 12v fan on the front. The cooling tube was stretched out just a bit to allow the cool air to pass thru the tubes. The pump is from a weed killer electric wand i found layin around. It worked just as i had thought....it just seemed like too much "stuff" in there, so i went to a 600 motor(runs cooler) and big heat sink. I'm like you, i love to create things and try them. im sure it cooled the motor fine but how much speed, performance etc.... was i really gaining?? By the way, it doesnt weigh anything really............aluminum colling tubes, aluminum roof flashing for the radiator housing, plastic tube and a light little pump. I ran it with 50/50 water to auto coolant.......................seemed like i had to bleed it more than i cared to. Now it just lays in my drawer and my daughter bashes the Exceed truck with the 600 motor, Tekin rebel esc, and 10 cell 4500 nimh(faaaast), with no cooling issues.
