Default RE: "Nosen Cessna 310 Club"

Too Low, I use G-26's mounted inverted and have run about 6 gallons thru each motor, 12 total, and have NEVER had a failure or even a cough....Go ahead and mount them inverted. The black carb stack can be trimmed to fit just inside the cowl to get your thumb in there to choke it. I use an APC 17-8 prop that turns 8600 RPMS on the ground with ABEL mufflers and it flies about 90 MPH at 38 lbs. RTF. I don't know about anybody else's flying weight, but a 26 lbs. target might be kinda tough.....That wing airfoil is just beutiful. I can float that baby in without flaps so easy.....May I make another sugestion. I used cowls from Stans Fibertech (970-881-2251) 1st pic, for the Wendell Hostetler Cessna 310 R for my 24% Cessna 414 scratchbuild. Along with a 4" Dave Brown Products Ultimate spinner it's a good looking combonation for anyone wanting to upgrade those stock 1962 cowls. It makes a BIG difference in the appearance of the plane. If I could only change 1 thing...it would be the cowls,,,right behind the shape of the roofline....As you get them from Stans, they are pretty close, but I enlarged the radius below the spinner to match the scale profile. The air inlets are scale. The following pics show how I used a pink foam insert glassed in and then reshaped. Rick
