Delays, delays - have to be more patient until maiden flight.....
1) The nose gear wheel strut broke as I tried to tighten the hex screw which holds the spring. New has been ordered and installed, but is of much more poor quality as the old one (lot of tolerance...) May have to make my own one from billet aluminum bar. See pic for broken strut detail. Cast aluminum shows quite coarse grain....
2) More severe: The Rossi FIRE made a final test run in my garden, but sounded like a diesel direct injection engine - klak klak klak - way too much tolerance in the lower conrod bushing! At this time I ran first time synthetic oil in that engine, on the former test run with castor oil this didn“t become obvious. The sick Rossi is now at a good friend for receiving a new bronce bushing to the lower conrod eye....
