Just a thought; go to Great Planes' web site. Look for a PDF download of the assembly instructions for the Spirit ( GPMA1045 manual.pdf ). The pics and text on page 11 may get you started. Even better if you can get a look at the builders drawings. Sorry, I'm still using mine.
