Well, partly true. Yes, the RF is a great simulator, but there are a couple out there that are somewhat less money and do the job just fine. One is the Aerofly Pro, and another is the FS-One.

If you search for realism, then the G4.5 is the way to go. If you want to practice RC then either of the others are just fine. You won't get the absolute reaslism, as though you were standing in the field with your transmitter in your hands, flying your favorite RC aircraft, but it's pretty close.
