Default RE: spur

ORIGINAL: LANDSLIDE*BASHER

I would like to elaberate a lil bit on this subject, I have been a few places on the forums and seen diff things that people have said and strangly I get confused...
First, I have a brand new landslide, it is as old as I am in this sport/hobbie so im pretty new to all of this, break in plus two tanks, oh and yeah, two spurs gears later, IM collecting dust like some of the other guys. I meshed it right from the get go, while waiting for my truck to arrive I watched all the videos from their site and familurized myself with the basics.

now on the my problems.. like I said I have been tru two spur gears. and was told that I should get an alum one, went to looking and researching and guess what no luck.
I however found a few forums that talked about a wobbly spur gear, and other places talk about a wobbly clutch bell, well I have both and as mech inclined as I am tells me that now matter what mesh I have, its going to eat up them plastics gears no matter what.
so. is there a clutch bell upgrade to fix that or its it just a flaw from the fact. and two I seen this spur gear and was wondering if anybody has tried it on a landslide two speed and worked?

other then this I have made a few adj while waiting to get it back running, and gone over the rest of the truck and seem pretty pleased. first out the box I wasn't, but thats another thread some other time...

thanks everybody who might respond for your input...[8D]
You deffinatly don't want a steel or the aluminum spur gear. Like he said you want a weak point in your drive train in case you get a rock or stone cought in the gear. As for the wobbling they all wobble a tiny bit, it makes no difference as long as the gear mesh is correct the wobble won't matter much. You deffinatly don't want to be on the throttle when you land from a jump, it will put undue stress on the spur gear when the wheels hit the ground spining. It's thoat momentary non-movement of the drive train with the engine trying to still turn the spur gear and drive train. 1/8th scales have steel spur gears because the drive train can handle it, but trust me you take something like a savage with a steel spur gear and the gigantic drive train, that it has, and get a little rock stuck in there and you mess up a clutch bell, spur gear and spur gear shaft. The spur gear for the savage is totally different than for the landslide, BUT if you could get it to work that would be cool.
