RE: Art Tech Wing Dragon 4 as a Beginner Plane
Our club does not agree with the principle of learning with three channels first and then moving up to 4 later. All of our students learn on 4 channel planes i.e. with ailerons.
This is just a point of view and it may or may not take longer to learn this way, but I would go ahead and get the wing dragon 4 and not even worry about taping the ailerons and learn to fly that way.
When I was learning my instructor taught me to do Immelmann turns before take offs and landings and in that way tried to keep the learning process varied and interesting.
Do get an instructor to help you though, especially until you get a feel for stick movement vs. control surface effect.
