Just use a pair of diagonal cutters and snip off the tab. Make sure you plug in the servo plug with the black ground wire on the outside of the receiver plug. Don't worry about plugging them in backwards, it won't hurt anything. If the servos don't work simply pull the plug out, turn it around, and plug it back in.
