Default RE: RCGF Engines

Okay, I'm on a different shift now so I had some time today to play. I ran both of my Aeroworks Edge 540's in the back yard, start running the engines. The 29% plane has the Aerovate 50cc single with a Xoar 22-10 prop. The 25% Edge has the Aerovate 26cc with a Xoar 17x6 prop. The 50cc engine is running through a 3W cannister muffler via a custom header. The 26cc is running through the pitts available through Henry. The 50cc, tuned and on it's second tank of fuel, was turning the Xoar just over 6000 rpm. For comparison, my 3W-50 turns that prop over at about 6400. Not bad at all. The 26cc, on it's first tank of gas, is turning it's Xoar at 8000 rpm! My Saito 1.50, which was in that plane until I, um decided to rebuild it, spun the same prop about 500 rpm faster ( as I recollect, but don't quote me). I used bellcranks to activate the choke, with a little antenna knob on the right side of the fuse to grab onto. I'll check my number is if I can find them. Overall, I'm pretty pleased and look forward to flying. Gotta get the wings re-covered on my Little Edge now.
