To All you Dudes out there,
Jeff-Michael, listen up here pal....
I've been rebuilding my BEATER HBK-2, all went well. I had to replace the main gear and motor pinion from normal wear and tear.
After a rebuild, I spool it up with no blades on, main or rotor. And check the main shaft to be true and zero vibration. Check...
Then I install the tail rotor blades and spooled it up..
Yikes Almighty I had a bad bobbing vibration.. Took the tail blades off and weighed them.. One blade was 1.8 grams and the other was 1.6 grams.. That's
ALOT when talking about something that small... Anyway, I add a couple HUNKS of tape to balance them.. Installed blades, and EUREKA, smooth as can be.
Not a major find, just to let ya know that balancing blades makes all the difference in the helicopter ya got. I've mentioned several times that 1/100 of a gram can make a difference. Take the time to do a GREAT balance of the main blades and tail blades..
Love ya guys, and God Bless,
Dave
