RE: help in buying first 4wd buggy
I have the DF-03 Dark Impact from Tamiya. It is a great basher and club racer. The only thing I have broken is the stock axels. I have since upgraded those. 4wd is a blast to drive. The DF-03 is so upgradable that you can make it into anything you want. Race, bash, both. I let my 5 year old drive it and he crashes it at full speed. It just bounces back and takes the punishment. The drive train can handle brushless as well. It is shaft driven and the only real upkeep I have done other than cleaning is I rebuild one diff with karbide balls. My DI is going on three years old now and it runs great and is still a blast on the track at the house!
