RE: Who's right or wrong?
Don't get me wrong, Glaciergirl may be right. I'm not privy to all the laws and I try never to be "Dead right" at all costs. I'd rather THINK that I'm right (and duck my RC bird away to fight another day) and follow up afterward through the right channels (if it means that much to me) and find out whether that (News? Police? Ambulance? Lifeline? Weather?) Helicopter was specifically allowed to be at that height and flying over our field.
Personally I'm not that curious nor am I that obsessed with who is right or wrong. The way I figure it, if I'm unable to avoid a full-scale bird of any type over my RC field then I need some lessons so I can avoid the SWARM of RC sized birds that fill the sky above our field on any given Saturday.
Sounds like a good way to lose a bunch of flying time. Of course some guys will come up with any old reason to avoid going home to their wives. I used to do that. This particular wife happens to have hung the moon and I'll leave Joe Blow to go and find out why the Heli choose my field to fly over. I'm going home to good food and good lovin' !! After the proper application of after-run oil, of course. We must keep our priorities straight.
Keep the rubber side down when you bring 'em home, boys.......
