Default RE: New Decathlons From Seagull 91 and 120 Size!

maidened my seagull 120 decathlon 2 days ago. fairly uneventfull plenty of right rudder and gentle on the throttle and she was away. the 28cc mld gas was brand new running rich but had more than enough for this airframe.(zoar 17x6)
it does all the basic aerobatics as good as can be expected, rolls are slow even on high rates but thats ok. inside loops outside loops, stall turns and inverted were all very good.it will drop a wing fairly quickly in a stall and you need to help it recover if you don't have much height. glide in is great but with landings you need to be carefull and bring it in on a low approach with a bit of throttle on or it will dump in. all i can say about ground handling is that you need to take care, you cant just gun it and pull up.
i had 5, 12min flights in total and had only 2 minor issues only. the tape holding the canopy on ripped off and the tailwheel centre self destructed.
everyone commented how nice it looked especially in the air and was a welcome change from extra, edges etc.
this is definately a keeper and a credit to seagull for a fine job at a very reasonable price.
Ari, i still trying to upload photo's..........................
