It is a very common mix. Another way to do it is to mix up elevator to low throttle. Some radios will allow you to enable the mix at half throttle and below, leaving your flying range mix-free. Related issues are maneuvers like a stall turn, when you go to idle you will have some elevator mixed in, so you will learn when to feed in additional inputs to counter-act, as all mixes will have a disadvantage as well as an advantage.

Iwould try both and see what works best for you. Since Ido most of my flying at half throttle or above, Iwould choose to have less mixing occuring in this range. You may choose otherwise.
