By leading edge of lower wing. I would say if you were to look straight up from the bottom of the plane where the leading edge of lower wing is on top wing is balance point. Most bipes have the wings staggered top forward of lower wing. Bipes are balanced like a high wing plane upright and from the top wing.  I know this is clear as mud but hope it helps.
