Welcome to the world of Warbird racing. I think the WM P-51 with a Super Tigre 65 and stock pipe would be a very good combination for Bronze. The truth is, you could probably get by running a pipe on it if you don't fly too aggressively with it. The planes I use for Bronze can easily break out in Bronze and I just use good time management and they work well. Funny, when I first started, I had to fly hard to keep up with the same planes. The most important thing is to get a plane together so you can start practicing. Flying a smooth course is going to make more difference than what engine you are running.
