Correcting bad servo mounting surface

<! / icon and title ><! message >
OK putting a H9 33% edge back into the air and the problem is I just received all my servo's(Hitec 7985 elevators)and on the elevators the servo's are mounted inside each horizontal stabs. Not a problem but the servos that were mounted before were a little larger and as such the mount was opened up.I know of half a dozen ways to do it but am looking for some simply suggestions. What I need to do without opening up the stabs is make a smaller mounting surface to hold the servo's in place.I can get 2 servo mounting screws to bite no problem its the other two that have nothing to bite into unless I tilt the screws on an agle.I would rather not do that as well as cut open the stab,I was thinking of making a new plate and gluing it into place or drilling out the holes and placing dowl in there.Any suggestions would be great as I'm about a week away from getting this into the air and never saw this one coming.Let me know,John
The photo shown is just to show how the servo mounts its not my stab but it is from the same plane.
