I started at the end of last season. I made it to the field twice with a instructor. I went up for two flights on the box the first day but the second day my engine was not working right soi didnt get to go up. So this year i decided to throw a good OS engine in my nexstar and get up again.
I showed up for thursday fly time and was able to take to the sky twice...short small runs but was very shaddy at flying. I couldnt get into it and was all over the place. For the next few days i did my trainer for an hour each day until sunday morning when i was to fly again.

Sunday I was alot more steddy and my instructor had me doing some low fly byes. I started getting pretty good at these and he said I could have landed a few of them. SO I tried it. I came in a couple times and just "didnt feel it" So I opted to go around again. Then finally everything worked out and I landed on my own. I was so happy. I asked if I could take off. He said if I wanted to. I was pushed a bit by the wind and wasnt hard enough on the throttle. Luckly he was there to take it over and throttle the heck out of it and got it in the air just as it was going into the cornfield. (corn was just planted very low).

I know I have a ways to go before I am on my own but this has to be the happiest time I have had so far. We made so much progress really in one day. I cant wait to get more stick time! Thanks to all instructors! You guys make things possible for others!

BTW: I ended up haveing 3 landings total. I think 1 take off...cant remember if i got help or not on that one LOL.
