RE: New e-Flite CP Pro 2
I got my Blace CP Pro 2 back today. Yahoo!!!
It's a new unit. The comment on the document attached is "2-in-1 unit failed. Shorted out and damaged the receiver, motor and battery. Replacing heli under warranty as well as the spare battery included'.
Everything good except that the spare battery wasn't include, but a call to Horizon quickly solved the problem - a new battery is on it's way.
I charged the battery and followed the book on testing the controls (motors disconnected...), just to be certain. Put on the training gear, swallowed twice and took it outside with the settings in the proper position on the transmitter. Turned on the Transmitter, plugged the battery and waited for the lights to go on, throttle hold off. I was ready.
Throttle up gently, main and tail rotor spinning. Throttle up more and the heli took flight. With my training on the simulator I was able to hover, but it is very very sensitive (even with Dual set to LO). But I was up and landed safely, sometimes harder than others. I did manage to land a little slanted and a blade tip touched enough to tear the cover a bit. Nothing that scotch tape couldn't fix quickly. I'll be looking for replacement blades if anyone has recommendations (I'll look at various posts).
All and all, it's great so far. I will keep the training gear on for a while though.
Not sure if there is any adjustment for this, but I can hover for a few seconds and suddenly, the heli decides to go off in a direction, and I have to force it back - no wind, no stick movement.
