I suggest the Great Planes Venus 40. I"m flying one with a 55AX and it's a lot of fun. With the battery moved back you would not need extra balance weight.

It is a great plane for in between the 'low wing trainers' like the Escapade, and something with the scale habits of an Extra. Very capable, yet smooth with very few couplings:
