RE: New e-Flite CP Pro 2
Tony,
I know that we can get the O-rings with the hub and spindle @ $10 a set, but you said that your O-rings were badly worn after just 40 minutes of flight time, which is only 7 flights (6 if you drain the battery.) That could get expensive in a hurry ($15/ flight hour), not to mention all of the "spare" hubs and spindles that would be collected. I am very confident that I can get that cost down to around $0.15/flight hour for all of us. Maybe even help to avoid a crash or two (mine and other RCU members) due to worn O-rings?? The shims are 2 bucks for a pack of 8, which is a pretty cheap upgrade (if you need them) and they shouldn't wear out, so no issue there.
As it is right now, my heli only needs two things to fly very well... fair weather and a good pilot!! I want to keep it that way! She has to wait for me to decide when the weather is fair, and she has to wait for me to re-learn my flying skills, but she wouldn't have to wait for O-rings! I will order the hub/spindle set to get a pair of new Os, and I will post what I find out about supplies. If you are right about the wear issue, we are going need a lot of them.
