The magnets are a great idea. I like them. Have you test driven it over some rough terrain to see if the upper hull shifts at all, ie, do the magnets slide across themselves when bumped or bounced? Do the magnets interfere at all with your speaker or your circuit boards? Looks like you've spaced them away pretty well, but I thought I'd ask. On that note, were these a Home Depot buy or did you get them special? Looks like a good idea for my Bulldog that I'm working on.

Speaking of which I've wanted to to use stereo plugs, or your guitar plug idea, to do a charging jack. Do you have a wiring diagram or photos of the wiring for that? Looks like I can get the plugs at RadioShack, but I'm not sure how to wire them up.
