I'am amazed at the flight times I'am getting right now with this -6 Scorpion which is a 4400 kv motor. I have a 11t Rhino in it right now, and thinking of going 12t for less flight times, but more power, which would get it to around 3770 rpms, and really to much. This motor is quite powerful and insane. They compare it to running a 4-cell as far as power and torque, but less effecient than a 4-cell would be.

4 guys over at the Struggling thread have the -8 Scorpion and one having the -6 Scorpion. Just the other day, I had to ask what flight times they were getting because it seemed I was getting great flight times compared to running my 3500kv motor on a 15t @ 3749 rpms and only getting 3:30-4:00 of flight times. That was using the CC 45a esc also...
Now I have this 4400kv motor to try, and running a 11t Rhino at 85% effeciency, in idle 1 85% throttle curve across I could push 8 minutes ! Weird... This is using the CC 80 amp esc with a faster draining 35c 2200mah Common-Sense RC lipo, and around 845 grams flying weight. I was really expecting like 4 minute flights, but have been very pleased with this set-up. Everything is oddly hardly warm, and so it seems to be not struggling that's for sure. I can't wait to get to the dang field to try out ! My yard, is getting boring FAST....

Lol.... That's right ! I forgot your getting the Gaui 550 ! Man you really need it to seeing your windy videos. Especially that one that just shows the wind you get there... Geez, the 550 is gonna be huge ! My Logo is only 500mm blades... It can take larger, but with some mods... So your gonna be just sitting pretty... Its gonna be so stable your gonna be amazed ! Almost unbelievable... Night and day from just my Trex 500 to the Logo, so I'am thinking stable for you !

The CPP is kinda fun for me still.... Pretty durable, and a good little thrasher ya know ?

I wonder what your guys' flight-times are with your -8 Scorpion motor averaging ? I know Randy doing harder flying said I think he's around 3:30-4:00 ? Can't remember... But it almost seems I'am getting unrealistic flight times with the -6 motor that I thought was suppose to drain the crap out of everything ?! I know my Common-Sense 3500kv motor I had in the Trex with a 15t that I ran would only get about 3:30 - 3:50 of flighttimes.
Yesterday just in my small yard and hovering, doing small banked turns, and a few punchouts I got these times below... The last one was today's flight piddling around. Just seems like good flight times more than I had expected. All 3 components battery/esc/motor are just barely warm... That's what really blows me away. But not complaining ! This is the coolest and best running set-up I've had yet in all my heli's to date. I can't wait to start taking flight with the 500 and note the diffs with it using the same Castle 80 amper esc and the Scorpion motor.
These times are using idle 1 with a 85% throttle curve across, 11t pinion which I think is around 3500 rpms averaging. I have a couple 12t Rhino's, but the headpeed gets up and over around 3700 rpms, so dunno if I have the stones to try....
4:30 = 1137 mah put back into the 35c 2200 mah lipo
6:20 = 1575 mah " "
7:40 = 1672 mah " "
Crap I'am thinking I could squeeze 8 minutes or more ? I wouldn't want to, but pretty impressive... Hopefully I can get some video soon, and see what my flighttimes are at a bigger field and actually flying...
