After doing this a number of times, you can also look through the exhaust port while at TDC. Watch for piston movement. There is a range of hub rotation where the piston isn't moving; the MIDDLE of that back and forth rotation is TDC. Milton calls it "rocking the piston", and it is extremely easy to get very accurate.
